Führer
German totalitarian title
Führer is German for leader or guide.
The word is now almost exclusively associated with Adolf Hitler, who took the title as head of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945.
In English, calling someone a führer implies dictatorial behavior or Nazi sympathies: The office führer micromanages everything we do.
