ghetto
Makeshift, informally speaking
A ghetto is an urban area where members of a minority group live, especially due to social or economic pressure.
Historically, ghettos were sections of European cities where Jews were required to live.
The term now often describes impoverished inner-city neighborhoods, particularly African American communities: growing up in the ghetto.
As an adjective, ghetto describes something cheap, improvised, or associated with urban poverty: a ghetto repair job, that's so ghetto.
This slang use is often considered offensive.
