CORE
Civil rights acronym
The core of something is its central and most important part: The core of his argument is that we have no rights without responsibilities.
Core is used figuratively to characterize the most important and influential members of a group: Only a core of supporters remain loyal to the president.
A core is also a cylindrical sample of something, such as the soil or ice of the earth’s surface.
To core fruit is to remove the core from it.
As an adjective, core characterizes something that is at the center or is most important: core courses, core values.
