cored

Emptied the middle

Cored describes something that has had its core removed.

An apple is cored when its central seeds and tough flesh are cut out: cored apples ready for baking.

A pineapple is cored when its fibrous center is extracted.

The term extends to other removals of central material: cored samples in geology are cylindrical sections drilled from rock or ice.
