periphery
Margin of something
Periphery is the outer boundary or edge of something, as opposed to its center: homes on the periphery of the city, the periphery of the retina.
It extends to figurative margins—things at the periphery of a discussion or field receive less attention than what's central.
In computing, peripherals are devices connected to but separate from the main computer: keyboards, monitors, printers.
