logic

Art of deduction

Logic is the study of valid reasoning—the principles that distinguish sound arguments from flawed ones.

More loosely, logic refers to any coherent system of thought or the reasoning behind something: What's the logic of starting a business during a recession?

To say something defies logic is to call it irrational.

In computing, logic refers to the operations and circuits that process information.
