nurse
Scrubs-wearing healer
A nurse is a person trained to care for the sick or injured, typically working under a physician's direction in hospitals, clinics, or homes.
The verb nurse means to care for someone during illness: She nursed him back to health.
To nurse a drink is to consume it slowly.
To nurse a grudge is to hold onto it.
A nurse also breastfeeds an infant, and a wet nurse does so for another woman's child.
Nursery and nursing home extend the caregiving sense to spaces for children and the elderly.
