yachtsman
Recreational boat captain
A yachtsman is a man who sails or owns a yacht, particularly one who does so as a sport or pastime rather than professionally.
The term suggests leisure and often wealth, since yacht ownership and racing have historically been pursuits of the affluent: He spent his summers as an amateur yachtsman off the coast of Maine.
The feminine form is yachtswoman.
