reticle

Eyepiece aiming grid

A reticle is a pattern of fine lines or markings in the eyepiece of an optical device—a telescope, microscope, or rifle scope—used to measure or aim.

The crosshairs in a sniper scope are a reticle.

In video games, the reticle is the aiming indicator on screen: Center the reticle on the target before firing.
