Game screen inset
A minimap is a small map displayed in a corner of a video game screen, showing the player's immediate surroundings, objectives, or teammates in simplified form.
It provides spatial awareness without obscuring the main view: I spotted enemies on the minimap before they came around the corner.
Also called a radar or mini-map.
