die

Metal shaping tool

Die is two separate words.

The verb die means to pass from life or from active or useful existence (my uncle died, the bill died on the House floor).

Figuratively and informally, die is used to communicate intense feelings (die laughing, dying to meet him).

The noun die is less frequent and is either the unusual singular of dice, or a noun denoting a device for precise cutting or molding: The die-cut medallion.
