gen
Informal British knowledge
Gen is informal British slang for information or knowledge: What's the gen on the new project?
To gen up is to learn about something or brief someone: I need to gen up on the regulations before the meeting.
In contemporary usage, gen is also a clipped form of generation, especially in compounds: Gen X, Gen Z, next-gen technology.
