cytosine
DNA base letter
Cytosine is one of the four chemical bases that make up DNA and RNA, pairing with guanine in the double helix structure.
It's represented by the letter C in genetic sequences: The mutation changed a cytosine to a thymine.
Along with adenine, guanine, and thymine (or uracil in RNA), cytosine forms the alphabet of the genetic code.
