connection
What joins two things
Connection is a link or relationship between things.
Physical connections join objects: The connection between the pipe and the faucet was leaking.
Abstract connections link ideas, people, or events: I see no connection between the two crimes.
A connection can be a person who provides access or advantage: She has connections in the industry.
In travel, a connection is a transfer between vehicles: We missed our connection in Chicago.
To make a connection with someone is to establish rapport or understanding.
