cohesion

Group members bonding

Cohesion is the quality of sticking together or forming a unified whole.

In physics, it's the force that holds molecules of the same substance together—water's cohesion creates surface tension.

More commonly, cohesion describes how well parts work as a unit: The team lacked cohesion after the trade.

A cohesive argument holds together logically; a cohesive group acts in concert.
