neighbor
Person next door
A neighbor is someone who lives nearby—next door, down the street, in the same building or community.
The word extends to anything adjacent: France's neighbor to the east is Germany.
As a verb, to neighbor is to be situated next to: Their property neighbors ours.
The broader sense covers fellow humans generally: Love thy neighbor.
Neighborly behavior is friendly and helpful in the way good neighbors should be.
