aliens
Beings from elsewhere
Aliens are beings from somewhere else—either foreign nationals or, more vividly, extraterrestrial creatures.
In legal contexts, an alien is someone who isn't a citizen: resident alien, illegal alien.
In science fiction and popular imagination, aliens are life forms from other planets: Do you believe in aliens?
The verb alien, rarely used, means to alienate or transfer property.
To feel alienated is to feel like an outsider—alien to your surroundings.
