Borg
Assimilating alien race
The Borg are a fictional alien species in Star Trek—a collective of cybernetic organisms that assimilate other species, erasing individuality.
Their catchphrase Resistance is futile has entered general usage for unstoppable forces.
To borg or be borged means to absorb someone into a system that strips their autonomy: The megacorp borged another startup. (Lowercase borg is a party drink.)
