cartoons
Drawn moving pictures
Cartoons are drawings, typically humorous or satirical, often published in newspapers and magazines.
Political cartoons comment on current events through caricature and visual metaphor.
The word also refers to animated films or television shows: Saturday morning cartoons, cartoon characters.
A cartoon can be a preliminary sketch for a painting or fresco, though this sense is now rare outside art history.
