xenomorph

Sci-fi monster

Xenomorph refers to an alien life form, especially one with a biology radically different from Earth organisms.

The term gained wide currency from the *Alien* film franchise, where it names the predatory creature with an elongated head and acidic blood: The xenomorph stalked the crew through the ship's corridors.

In broader science fiction, xenomorph describes any extraterrestrial organism whose form is truly alien rather than humanoid.
