SETI
Listening for aliens
SETI is the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence—scientific efforts to detect signals or other evidence of intelligent life beyond Earth.
SETI projects typically use radio telescopes to scan the sky for artificial transmissions: The SETI Institute has been listening for decades.
The search assumes that advanced civilizations might broadcast detectable signals, intentionally or not.
