unalienable
Cannot be surrendered
Unalienable means incapable of being taken away or transferred to another.
The word appears most famously in the Declaration of Independence's "unalienable rights" to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—rights inherent to humanity, not granted by governments.
Inalienable is the more common variant today, with identical meaning.
