E.T.

Phone home creature

E.T. is an abbreviation for extraterrestrial—a being from beyond Earth.

The term gained widespread recognition from the 1982 Spielberg film about a stranded alien befriended by a child: E.T. phone home.

Outside that cultural reference, E.T. appears in discussions of alien life: Do you believe in E.T.s?
