troll
Forum chaos agent
Two words are spelled troll with different meanings.
In the first, a troll is a mythical being that often pesters humans.
This has given rise to the more common meaning today of a person who pesters others online with malicious comments or activities.
In the second, to troll is to fish by dragging a baited line through the water.
To troll someone online is to harass them by saying or posting things they will react to.
If you do this, you are a troll, a meaning that is inspired by both of the original meanings of troll.
