Online inside joke
A meme is an idea or theme that becomes popular through repetition and spreads from one person or group to another.
Today, many memes spread on the Internet, and are often called Internet memes.
Some writers make an analogy between memes and genes.
They share the qualities of reproducing over time, and sometimes changing or evolving as new groups of people express them.
