Hadron building block
A quark is a fundamental subatomic particle, one of the basic building blocks of matter.
Quarks combine in groups of two or three to form protons, neutrons, and other particles.
There are six types, whimsically named up, down, strange, charm, bottom, and top.
Separately, quark is a soft fresh cheese common in German-speaking countries, similar to cottage cheese or ricotta: Quark is used in cheesecake and spreads.
