Trondheim
Norway's third city
Trondheim is a city in central Norway, the country's third largest.
Founded as Nidaros in the Viking era, it served as Norway's first capital and remains an important cultural and educational center.
The city sits on a fjord and is home to the medieval Nidaros Cathedral, Scandinavia's largest medieval building and a historic pilgrimage site.
