photomicrograph

Tiny-subject photograph

A photomicrograph is a photograph taken through a microscope, showing magnified images of specimens too small to see clearly with the naked eye: The photomicrograph revealed the cell's internal structure.

The term distinguishes microscope photography from microphotography, which is making very small photographs of normal-sized subjects.
