close-up

Detailed camera angle

A close-up is a photograph, film shot, or view taken from very near the subject, showing detail that distance would obscure: The director called for a close-up of her face.

By extension, any detailed examination: a close-up look at the evidence.

As an adverb or adjective, close-up describes proximity: close-up photography, seen close-up.
