bubble
Soap film sphere
A bubble is a thin sphere of liquid enclosing air or gas—soap bubbles, bubbles in boiling water.
The verb means to form bubbles or rise in them: The soup bubbled on the stove.
Figuratively, a bubble is something fragile or inflated beyond sustainable value: the housing bubble, the tech bubble.
To burst someone's bubble is to disillusion them.
A bubble can also be an isolated environment: living in a bubble, the NBA bubble.
