locale
Where things happen
Locale is a place or setting, especially as it relates to events or circumstances occurring there.
It carries a slightly formal or literary tone compared to plain "location": The film's locale shifted from Paris to Prague.
In computing, locale refers to regional settings that determine how software handles language, dates, and currency formats.
