A summit is the highest point of something, typically a mountain: We reached the summit at dawn.
The word extends to any peak or culmination: the summit of her career.
A summit is also a high-level meeting between heads of state or other leaders: an economic summit, a climate summit.
To summit is to reach the top: She summited Everest without supplemental oxygen.
