Spring-gated loop
A carabiner is a metal loop with a spring-loaded gate, used to quickly connect ropes, harnesses, and other equipment.
Essential in rock climbing, mountaineering, and industrial rigging, carabiners come in locking and non-locking varieties: Clip the carabiner to your harness before ascending.
