clip

Short video segment

Clip represents two verbs and their derivative nouns.

If you clip one thing to another, you attach it, as you might do with a paper clip.

If you clip something using a sharp instrument, you cut it, usually with the result of leaving it shorter: It’s time to clip your toenails.

This clip can also refer to a hit or blow, especially an unintentional one: I clipped a light pole when I was backing out.

Something happening at a good clip is happening agreeably fast.
