Alpine slope sport
Skiing is the activity of traveling over snow on long, narrow runners attached to boots.
Originally a mode of transportation in snowy regions, skiing now exists primarily as recreation and sport.
Downhill skiing uses gravity on mountain slopes; cross-country skiing covers flat or rolling terrain.
We went skiing in Colorado last winter.
