rescue
Pull from danger
Rescue is saving someone or something from danger, captivity, or harm.
A lifeguard rescues a drowning swimmer; firefighters rescue people from burning buildings.
The word works as both verb and noun: The coast guard performed a daring rescue.
To come to someone's rescue is to help them out of difficulty, literal or figurative: My sister came to my rescue when I couldn't pay rent.
