zipline

Aerial cable descent

A zipline is a cable stretched between two points at different heights, along which a person rides suspended by a pulley or harness.

Ziplines appear at adventure parks and canopy tours, offering the thrill of gliding above treetops or gorges: We ziplined through the rainforest.

The word also works as a verb for the activity itself.
