tent
Pitched fabric shelter
A tent is a portable shelter made of fabric stretched over poles or a frame, used for camping, outdoor events, or temporary housing.
Tents range from simple pup tents to elaborate structures for circuses or weddings.
To tent something is to cover it loosely, as when you tent foil over a roast to keep it warm.
If you pitch a tent, you set one up; the phrase also has vulgar slang use referring to a visible erection under fabric.
