guyline

Anchors fabric shelters

A guyline is a rope or cord used to stabilize a tent, tarp, or other outdoor structure by anchoring it to the ground at an angle.

The guy- comes from guide—the lines guide the structure into position and hold it there against wind.

Make sure to tighten the guylines before the storm hits.
