downstream

With the flow

Downstream describes the direction water flows in a river or stream—toward the mouth, away from the source: The canoe drifted downstream.

By extension, it means later in a sequence or process: downstream effects of the policy, downstream in the supply chain.

In oil and gas, downstream refers to refining and distribution rather than extraction.

The opposite is upstream.
