South African nation

Zulus refers to a South African ethnic group, the largest in the country, known historically for the powerful Zulu Kingdom of the 19th century.

The term also designates their Bantu language, spoken by millions.

In military and aviation contexts, Zulu means Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), from the NATO phonetic alphabet: The mission launches at 0800 Zulu.
