colonial forces
Empire's stationed soldiers
Colonial forces are military units raised in or deployed to a territory under colonial rule.
The term typically refers to troops serving a colonizing power—whether settlers, indigenous recruits, or soldiers from the metropole: The British relied heavily on colonial forces in India.
Colonial forces often combined European officers with local soldiers, as in the French Foreign Legion or British Indian Army.
