Zulu warrior
Shaka's legendary soldier
A Zulu warrior is a member of the historically formidable fighting force of the Zulu people of southern Africa.
The term evokes the disciplined military system developed under King Shaka in the early 19th century, famous for its tactical innovations and fierce resistance to British colonization: The Zulu warriors at Isandlwana handed the British one of their worst defeats.
Today it may describe Zulu men in traditional ceremonial dress or, more loosely, anyone displaying exceptional fighting spirit.
