sovereignty
Independent ruling power
Sovereignty is the state or condition of either having the greatest or highest power, or having the capacity to act independently, without interference from others.
Sovereignty is usually used to talk about states, countries, and governments.
A nation that has sovereignty is self-governing and is not ruled by or dependent on another.
If one country claims sovereignty over an area of land, that country claims possession of that land.
