Second World War
Axis versus Allies
The Second World War, also called World War II, was the global military conflict fought from 1939 to 1945, pitting the Allied powers (including Britain, the Soviet Union, and the United States) against the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan).
It remains the deadliest conflict in human history.
