Nagasaki
Second atomic target
Nagasaki is a Japanese port city on the island of Kyushu, the second city destroyed by an atomic bomb in warfare.
On August 9, 1945, three days after Hiroshima, the United States dropped a plutonium bomb that killed approximately 70,000 people.
The city's name sometimes stands in for nuclear catastrophe generally: We can't risk another Nagasaki.
