Pacific

World's biggest ocean

The Pacific is the largest and deepest of Earth's oceans, stretching from Asia and Australia to the Americas.

Pacific also functions as an adjective for the regions bordering this ocean: the Pacific Northwest, Pacific Rim economies, Pacific islands.

The ocean was named by Magellan for its calm appearance after the stormy straits he had navigated.

They sailed across the Pacific. (Lowercase pacific means peaceful.)
