Mariana Islands
Guam's island chain
The Mariana Islands are a chain of volcanic islands in the western Pacific Ocean, east of the Philippines.
The archipelago includes Guam, a U.S. territory, and the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth.
The nearby Mariana Trench contains the deepest point in the world's oceans.
