Protected sea zone
A marine sanctuary is a protected area of ocean, coastline, or other body of water where human activity is restricted to preserve ecosystems and wildlife.
Sanctuaries may limit fishing, drilling, or boat traffic to protect coral reefs, breeding grounds, or endangered species.
The national marine sanctuary spans three hundred square miles of coastal waters.
