Rota
Vatican judicial body
The Rota, formally the Roman Rota, is the highest appellate tribunal of the Roman Catholic Church, handling appeals in ecclesiastical cases including marriage annulments.
The name comes from the circular arrangement of the judges' benches.
Rota is also a small island in the Northern Mariana Islands. (Lowercase rota is a British term for a duty schedule.)
